Stand and Fight!

The Fleur de Lys Fencing Club has been providing fencing instruction and practice since 1981, making it one of the longest continually operating clubs in the Seattle metropolitan area.  We are a not-for-profit sport club and a member of the United States Fencing Association.

Through the Loyal Heights Community Center in Seattle, the Fleur de Lys Fencing Club offers instruction for beginning and intermediate fencers, as well as recreation and competition for advanced fencers.

Note: The Fleur de Lys Fencing Club will be permanently relocating to the Loyal Heights Community Center. The next session will begin Tuesday, January 3.

The Sport of Fencing

Fencing is one of only four sports to be included in every modern Olympic Games since the first in 1896.  It was also an event in the original Olympic Games in ancient Greece.

Fencing is a fast-paced and athletic competition which evolved out of historical swordsmanship and military training.

It is a sport for all ages and levels of athletic ability. Because it ultimately relies on skill and not merely physical prowess, it allows people of all ages and strengths to compete equally.

Modern fencing is also safe.  Protective equipment and rules stress safety and sportsmanship.
